Dima

Dima Ivanov, 6 years old, came to the U.S. in the summer of 2010 with Lena. Today he is walking on his new legs! Having survived amputation, phantom-limb pains, the difficulties of the first steps, he now can walk by himself!
Dima is not only walking now, but he found his family forever in Dallas! He was adopted in March of 2011 by an incredible couple Greg and Trudy, who were his foster family while he was in Dallas for surgery. They shared with him his pain after the amputation; they helped him to take his first steps on his own. They couldn’t let him go back to the orphanage. He became their son. They gave him a chance to have a new life.
